What Makes Rick’s Music World Different?
It’s more than a music store, it’s a place that’s all about music, the lifestyle. We have created a casual and creative family atmosphere for lessons, music purchases, entertainment and learning.
Our Café and Center Stage Combined with Music Enthusiasts!
It serves as the heartbeat of our business. It’s a casual meeting place for musicians, music lovers and students alike. A fully equipped stage stands at the ready to deliver the pure sound of every live performance via the Bose L1 sound system no larger than a coat rack.
Relax while your child takes a lesson or bring along your laptop and take advantage of our Free Wi-Fi. Enjoy a concert on our TV or watch a live performance on our stage. Treat yourself to gourmet coffee or tea, bakery pizza, delicious desserts, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Student Recitals, Jam Camp and Open Mic
Multiple times throughout the year our teachers offer their students the opportunity to perform in a Student Showcase, which are held in our Cafe with expanded seating to accommodate family and friends.
Students, this is your chance to share your accomplishments and talents in front of a very appreciative audience! Students who wish to perform should ask their teacher or the Lesson Coordinator when their next Student Showcase will be held. Our Jam Camp Concerts are always the highlight of the Summer, showcasing the performances of each of the student bands.
Concerts & Clinics
At Rick’s, we are committed to providing enrichment opportunities to our musical community. Opportunities for you to meet and learn tips & techniques from the pros. And to get inspired!
So, periodically we feature nationally-recognized artists who incorporate teaching into their performance. Some of the performers we’ve hosted over the years are: Johnny Hiland, Brooks Williams, Johnny A, Gary Hoey, Doyle Dykes, John Flynn, Michael Orlando with A J Pero (Twisted Sister), The Jon Finn Group, Greg Bissonette, Eric Singer (Kiss), Robben Ford, Greg Koche, Elliott Easton, Jennifer Batten and Craig Chaquico.
Saturday Song Circle
Have you ever sat around a campfire singing and playing music with others? This monthly acoustic event is just as special. Held during closed store hours, it provides a casual, intimate atmosphere for local musicians and music lovers to gather and share their joy in making music. Chairs are set up to form a Performers’ Circle, used to cycle all performers through after each song or two. Hosted by our good friend, Tom Irving. A $3.00 cover charge brings good music, good friends and a lot more fun than the TV. Email our host with any questions at: tom468strings@yahoo.com

Live Music at Rick’s
Open Mic Night - Your Chance to Shine
Admission is $3 per person, which helps fund our Scholarship Program.
Every Thursday night, the lights go down in our Cafe at 7pm as we serve our musical community by hosting Rick’s Open Mic. The public is welcome and we’re family-friendly, too. You will not find a more supportive and encouraging live audience anywhere!! You’ll see a range of ages from 5-85 and watch a variety of music styles. Best of all, we guaranty that you will see some fabulous talent.
On a typical Open Mic Night, each act is allowed stage time for up to two songs (10 minutes maximum total stage time). Students and local musicians who are interested in performing can sign-up starting at 6:30pm. Once a month there is a Feature Act who performs for about a half-hour during the evening.
